The pre-assessment for this unit will be given at the beginning of the Vocabulary Acquisition lesson. I will read a term aloud to the class and the students will take their best guess at the spelling and meaning of the word. There are ten vocabulary words, and they all relate to the content area of this unit. These terms are essential in the understanding of the rest of the material, and I expect my students to learn the vocabulary and use it during class. This assessment will help me see how much information about the unit my students already know and what parts of information still need to be taught.
There will be a comprehensive Unit Exam at the end of the unit that will assess the progress of the students. This exam will show me what items the students efficiently understand and what material might need to be reviewed again.
