Additional Resources
Here are five recommended resources to supplement my unit on linear equations and inequalities:
- Rubistar Rubric Maker- This is an extremely user-friendly website that creates rubrics based on what type of activity you are grading, and it is easy to adjust the requirements to fit your expectations.
- Algebra Activities- This website has several creative activities that can be used in the classroom to help the students better understand linear equations.
- Connect Four- This link will take you to an interactive online game that will give your students practice solving equations and inequalities with one variable while competing to win a game of Connect Four. The game gives you the option to choose the difficulty of the problems and the time limit that the student has to answer, which could be adjusted if needed for accommodation purposes.
- SMARTBoard Resource- SMARTBoard technology is a great way to get students involved in their own learning. This link takes you directly to the search page where you can search either using the toolbar or choosing a key word to browse. Several lesson plans are available on the website, and it is as easy as downloading and editing the material to fit your own classroom instruction.
- 21st Century Math Projects- This site provides numerous projects that can be used in any high school level math class that connect the material the students are learning in class to real-world connects and applications. One main goal of our current education system is to make the material relevant to the students and teach them 21st Century skills. These activities foster both of these skills in the student.
